A US test report is not accepted in the EU, and a CE declaration does not satisfy a US state DOT. Here is what each market asks for, the document that answers it, and the codes your buyer will use.

The DoP is issued per model and per year. Ask for the library and we send the current one with the certificate, not a marketing sheet.

Why two sets

Same film, different tests.

The reason a report from one system is not evidence in the other.

The geometry differs

ASTM D4956 reports brightness at 0.2° observation and −4° entrance; EN 12899-1 uses 0.33° and +5°. The same film gives different numbers, and neither set can be converted into the other.

The proof differs

In the US the evidence is a test report and the manufacturer's certification. In the EU it is a Declaration of Performance under a notified body and the CE mark on the product.

Neither replaces the other

If you sell into both markets, budget for both sets of documents — or ask us for the pair, which costs less than commissioning them separately.
